Receive the appointment plan, records checklist, intake requirements, arrival instructions and bilingual contact route. You arrange flights and accommodation independently.

Arrival & hospital assessment
The provider examines you, confirms or adjusts the proposed plan, explains consent and final hospital costs. You decide whether to proceed after the clinical discussion.

We match the condition to the department, not simply to a famous hospital name. We review specialty strength, relevant case volume, doctor experience, equipment, appointment availability and the practical follow-up route, then confirm the proposed provider and costs in writing before you commit.
Cataract surgery and RLE use established lens-replacement techniques. Although no intraocular procedure is risk-free, serious complications are uncommon. Published studies report postoperative endophthalmitis around 0.02% after cataract surgery and retinal detachment around 0.2% after lens replacement. Eligible MediConnex patients may receive up to $500 towards the premium for medical complication cover purchased directly from the insurance provider, including eligible treatment back home. Policy benefits can be up to $50,000 and remain available for up to 270 days after the approved procedure, subject to policy terms and claims approval.

We organise the reports available within your pathway, such as operative notes, imaging, prescriptions and discharge instructions, with English translation where scoped. You receive the records directly so they can be shared with your doctor, optometrist or specialist at home.
Tell us as soon as possible. We will explain the options in writing and coordinate with the hospital where dates can be adjusted. MediConnex refunds follow the Refund and Cancellation Policy, while hospital reservation fees and committed third-party costs may follow the provider's own terms.
That depends on your passport, route and the entry rules in force when you travel. Some patients qualify for ordinary visa-free entry or visa-free transit, while others need a visa in advance. For patients who need an S1 or S2 visa for medical treatment, we can help prepare the supporting information and coordinate the hospital documents needed for the application. We help identify the likely route, but you remain responsible for confirming the requirements with the relevant Chinese authority before booking travel.
